Blarney is something more than mere flattery. It is flattery sweetened by humour and flavoured by wit.John O’Connor Power
What is a Blarney you ask? These gents are seen about town wearing the “goofy green vest”, adorned in buttons-o-glory, running around St. Paul with a group of Princesses and Miss Shamrock. But more importantly, they are meant to be the protectors and accompaniment to the princesses throughout their 6-weeks of button blitzing in pursuit of the crown. They are also known to make appearances outside of the Irish season at summer festivals and parades.
It wouldn’t be an Irish event without a little blarney!
